
Frequently Asked Questions at the B&B
When and where is breakfast served?
Breakfast is served between 08:30 and 09:30 in the Pergola/ Braai area, weather permitting.
How do I pay for my room?
Payment via EFT is the preferred method. Guests may also pay by credit card or in cash. Please note that all payments must be finalised before arrival and not on departure.
Do you have a porter to assist with my luggage?
Unfortunately there are no porters to assist guests with their belongings.
Do you supply towels?
Yes, the rooms are stocked with bath towels, and beach towels are available on request from Reception.
On your website you mention that the B&B is rustic. What does this mean?
Rustic style celebrates the natural and raw environment that the West Coast / Weskus offer. It is also characterised by often mixing styles which gives that rustic and raw appeal.
What if I arrive after the check-in times?
Should you arrive after 16:00 your room key and a map to the rooms will be left on the reception desk together with a contact number of a staff member who resides on the premises to assist you should you have difficulty in locating your room. For check-in after 19:00 kindly inform us prior to your arrival.
Does your B&B offer a “turndown” service? Does housekeeping make up our beds?
We like to give our guests space and privacy to fully enjoy their stay. For this reason, we don’t offer a nightly turndown or daily bed-making service. For longer stays of more than 2 nights, we’ll refresh your bathroom linen. Feel free to request fresh linen or towels at any time from Reception.
Will we have our own bathroom, and do you have hot water and electricity?
Yes, each room has a shower with a hand basin and a toilet. The bridal suite is the only room with a bathtub. Hot water is always available. We do have electricity, but please note that during load shedding, the Sandpiper/Reception venue and the Restaurant/Party Venue will have power. However, please note that the rooms will not have electricity. We do provide candles and matches in each room.
Do you have WIFI at the venue?
There is WiFi available across the entire venue, including in the rooms, restaurant, and at Reception. Please note that WiFi may not be available during Load Shedding.
Can a single person book a double, twin or family room?
Yes you may but a surcharge of R300.00 per night will be added onto the rate if a double, twin or family room is booked for single occupancy.
Do you have a wheelchair-friendly room?
Yes, we do have a wheelchair-friendly room available. It's Room 29.
Is your B&B pet friendly?
Pets are allowed in 3 of our rooms namely 25, 26 & 27.
Is smoking allowed?
The Strandkombuis B&B is a strictly non-smoking accommodation establishment.
Can I book a sea-facing room?
Unfortunately there are no sea-facing rooms as a dune separates the B&B from the sea.
What if I need to cancel after making a booking?
As per our terms & conditions we regret that all bookings cancelled within 7 days of the scheduled time of arrival will result in the full forfeiture of the full confirmation fee. Please note non-arrivals will result in no refund.
